Brooklyn Beckham has gone public with details about a growing distance between him and his parents, saying his efforts to repair the relationship were turned down during a visit to London in 2025.
On Monday, Jan. 19, the 26-year-old shared a series of Instagram Stories describing what he says happened when he and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, traveled to the U.K. hoping to spend time with his family.
According to Brooklyn, the couple flew to London in May with the intention of celebrating his father David Beckham’s milestone birthday and reconnecting privately. Instead, he claims they were left waiting for days without seeing him.
Brooklyn said his father declined multiple requests to meet unless it was during a large birthday event attended by celebrities and surrounded by cameras. He described spending nearly a week in their hotel trying to arrange personal time that never materialized.
Brooklyn also claimed that when his father finally agreed to meet him, it was only on the condition that Nicola not attend. He said the request felt deeply disrespectful and added to what he views as a longstanding pattern of tension involving his wife.
In his posts, Brooklyn said his family had repeatedly made choices that left both him and Nicola uncomfortable, despite their attempts to maintain unity and resolve issues privately.

The distance, Brooklyn said, did not end there. He alleged that when his parents later traveled to Los Angeles, they declined to see him altogether. He added that he had chosen to remain silent for years to avoid airing family issues publicly.
However, Brooklyn said he felt compelled to speak out after continued media coverage portrayed the situation without his perspective. He rejected claims that his wife influences or controls him, saying the idea is completely untrue.
Brooklyn concluded by saying that he and Nicola want a life centered on peace, privacy, and happiness, rather than one shaped by public image or media narratives. He said speaking out was about standing up for himself for the first time.
Representatives for David and Victoria Beckham did not respond to requests for comment. Previously, sources close to the family have said the relationship is strained but not irreparable, noting that the couple remains hurt by their son’s distance from family life.
