On Monday morning, the 42-year-old actress posted a first-look image of herself in costume from The Devil Wears Prada 2. The Instagram photo shows Hathaway dressed in a sharp pinstriped vest and matching pants, completed with pointed-toe boots and a gold T-bar necklace.
Later that same day, Hathaway was seen filming scenes for the sequel on a New York City street. She sported a chic ensemble consisting of a sleeveless white blouse, an open black vest, a faded denim skirt, and Chanel slides. She also gave fans a nostalgic treat with a TikTok video earlier that morning, where she appears in a light blue sweater while brushing her teeth. The caption, “Heading to work #dwp2,” is a subtle reference to the original film’s memorable cerulean monologue.
Confirmation of The Devil Wears Prada 2 came in June when 20th Century Studios released a 21-second teaser on Instagram. The short clip featured a pair of striking red heels styled with devil’s pitchforks as stiletto heels. The sequel is set to premiere in theaters on May 1, 2026.
The original 2006 movie, based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel, follows Andy Sachs, a recent journalism graduate who unexpectedly lands a job as the assistant to Miranda Priestly, the powerful and demanding editor of Runway magazine. Meryl Streep’s performance as Priestly earned her an Oscar nomination and was famously inspired by fashion icon Anna Wintour.
Nearly two decades later, the sequel will explore the evolving landscape of fashion publishing. Miranda Priestly, still at the helm of Runway, now faces challenges brought on by the digital shift in media.
