The Devil Wears Prada 2

‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ first look unveiled by Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs is back!

Anne Hathaway Steps Back Into Andy Sachs Role

Anne Hathaway is officially returning to one of her most iconic roles—Andy Sachs. On Monday morning, the 42-year-old actress posted a first-look image of herself in costume from The Devil Wears Prada 2. The Instagram photo shows Hathaway dressed in a sharp pinstriped vest and matching pants, completed with pointed-toe boots and a gold T-bar necklace.

Street Style and Subtle Throwbacks

Later that same day, Hathaway was seen filming scenes for the sequel on a New York City street. She sported a chic ensemble consisting of a sleeveless white blouse, an open black vest, a faded denim skirt, and Chanel slides. She also gave fans a nostalgic treat with a TikTok video earlier that morning, where she appears in a light blue sweater while brushing her teeth. The caption, “Heading to work #dwp2,” is a subtle reference to the original film’s memorable cerulean monologue.

The Sequel Is Official and Coming in 2026

Confirmation of The Devil Wears Prada 2 came in June when 20th Century Studios released a 21-second teaser on Instagram. The short clip featured a pair of striking red heels styled with devil’s pitchforks as stiletto heels. The sequel is set to premiere in theaters on May 1, 2026.

Revisiting the Story of Runway Magazine

The original 2006 movie, based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel, follows Andy Sachs, a recent journalism graduate who unexpectedly lands a job as the assistant to Miranda Priestly, the powerful and demanding editor of Runway magazine. Meryl Streep’s performance as Priestly earned her an Oscar nomination and was famously inspired by fashion icon Anna Wintour.

Nearly two decades later, the sequel will explore the evolving landscape of fashion publishing. Miranda Priestly, still at the helm of Runway, now faces challenges brought on by the digital shift in media. She must engage with her former assistant, Emily Charlton—played again by Emily Blunt—who is now a high-ranking executive at a luxury conglomerate with the power to decide the magazine’s fate.

Familiar Faces and New Stars

Hathaway, Streep, and Blunt will all reprise their roles. Also returning are Stanley Tucci as Nigel, Priestly’s right-hand man; Tracie Thoms as Andy’s friend Lily; and Tibor Feldman as the head of Runway’s parent company. New cast members include Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, and Kenneth Branagh, who will play Miranda’s husband.

Fashion Returns to Center Stage

Just like in the original, fashion will be a central element of the sequel. Andy Sachs’s transformation from understated intern to high-fashion insider was one of the first film’s key arcs, and the sequel promises just as much style inspiration. From tailored suits to head-to-toe couture, fans can expect a wardrobe worthy of Runway‘s pages.

From Doubt to Reality

Despite the excitement now surrounding the film, Hathaway previously expressed skepticism about a sequel. In a 2024 interview with V Magazine, she admitted she didn’t think it would happen. “Probably not,” she said, acknowledging the strong bond among the original cast. “We all love each other, and if someone figured out how to make it work, we’d be foolish not to consider it. But the world has changed so much—especially with digital media. That original story centered around creating a physical magazine, which feels very different today.”
